Lento e Largo is the new creation by Jonas&Lander, to be premièred at FestivalGuidance 2019. The duo of creators take inspiration from Hieronymous Bosch’s bodyof work to design a scenic space where robotic and human performers settle, devising a visual apocalypse. Inscribed within an unreal landscape, the two entities socialize, dance, kiss, command and obey, head-to-head. Each performer is capable of conducting actions impossible for others (example: human performer being able to fly vs. robotic performer kissing), giving way to explore the boundaries and particularities of each organism. These robots tone an absurd universe, dressing and displayingorganic materials such as fur, fish scales or horns, evoking Enrique Gomez de Molina’spariah taxidermy. Lento e Largo is a specific feature of classical music that describes a certain tempo and ambiance swamped by sadness. The breadth of this atmosphere influences the actions and choreography, which may overflow the stage towards the borders of the room.
