Tânia Carvalho/Grupo Dançando com a Diferença

Composition for drawing of fixed, non-rigid movements. Work of the rhythmic contrasts of the moving body or not.
Pass a person …
But not. They are more people. One here, one more there.
It’s that? It was not there before. Or was it? It was fixed on a point and I had not seen it before.
The fixed movements are then released. Not against these same movements. Not to erase them, but to extend them.
There’s someone else there …

Dançando com a Diferença

Emerging in 2001 on Madeira Island as a project that aimed to implement Inclusive Dance in the region, it gave place to a professional company with a wide-ranging educational and social project known for its innovative methods. Under the artistic direction of Henrique Amoedo, the company became a reference in contemporary arts mainly in the European artistic panorama when we speak of inclusion through the arts. Since 2017 there is a nucleus in the city of Viseu.

In its repertoire we can find creations of different choreographers, among them important contemporary creators such as Henrique Rodovalho, Paulo Ribeiro, Rui Horta, Clara Andermatt, Rui Lopes Graça, Tânia Carvalho and La Ribot.

Henrique Amoedo

Artistic Director of Dançando com a Diferença, with a Master degree in Artistic Performance – Dance by Faculty of Human Kinetics of Lisbon, Post-graded in Corporal Awareness by Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (Natal, Brasil), a degree in Physical Education and Sports by Faculty of Integrated Studies of Guarulhos (São Paulo, Brasil).

Amoedo is choreographer and author of diverse scientific and opinion papers about Inclusive Dance and has participated in different events as a guest lecturer and workshops trainer in Inclusive Dance and Inclusion of people with disabilities in the artistic universe.

Tânia de Carvalho

Tânia Carvalho moves frequently from the field of choreography to that of musical composition.

She affirms herself as an artist whose will to expression is not exhausted in one single language.

Her creations wander through the shadows, the vivification of painting, expressionism and the memory of cinema.

Hence the artist constructs her mysterious cosmogony, a set of codes that transcend the very art of movement – whether this should take place in the linguistic and semantic carefulness that she inscribes in the titles of her work.

Over almost two decades, Tânia Carvalho has been paving her way: thoughtfully and each time more multidisciplinary.
